Discover the Story of Velkopopovický Kozel
Immerse yourself in the remarkable story of the brewery in Velké Popovice, a picturesque village near Prague, and set out on a guided tour. The history of the Velkopopovický Kozel brewery dates back to 1874 and is closely tied to the prominent industrial Ringhoffer family.
These visionaries not only brought the brewery the most advanced technology of their time but also instilled a strong emphasis on craftsmanship and honesty—values that became the foundation of the Kozel brand. It was here that the beer was born, whose symbol—a proud billy goat—is now recognized by beer lovers all over the world.
Over the decades, this small regional brewery has grown into an internationally recognized brand. Yet Kozel has retained its authenticity and deep connection to the place where it all began. To this day, Velké Popovice remains the heart of this traditional brand and a symbol of Czech brewing.
