‘Pub scenes’ – exhibition of paintings by Doris Windlin

The Brewery Museum in Pilsen is pleased to invite you to the ‘Pub scenes’ exhibition, opened by Doris Windlin, a Swiss painter.

Doris Windlin, a painter from Switzerland, completed her studies at the Luzern school of Arts and Design, founded by Jaroslav Kurta, a Czech emigrant. This is where she found her passion for Czech arts, which inspired her to continue in her studies in Brno.

Her paintings typically feature landscape and portraits; she likes to paint scenes from pubs. Her paintings capture the atmosphere of traditional Czech pubs with their cosy lure. These places are not artificial or reserved, people behave in a relaxed way. The painter captures scenes from the “life” of pub regulars.

Her works have won a number of awards in the Czech Republic, Germany and in Switzerland. She has held independent exhibitions in Berlin, Luzern, Zürich and Moscow, in Prague, Uhersky Brod, Olomouc, Hradec Králové and Brno.

Doris Windlin
’s exhibition is on at the Brewery Museum until 29 May 2016.
