The “Living Tradition” program – a first-hand look at traditional brewery handicrafts

For your clients we recommend you add the program “Living Tradition” to the Pilsner Urquell sightseeing tour, which offers a look at the way beer was produced in the past.

a) Roll out the barrels!  

  • Your guests can try for themselves how the cellarmen in the brewery used to handle wooden barrels.
  • Participants will be given poles for rolling / handling the barrels which they can use to move them a certain distance before turning them over to their partners.
  • Each participant shall receive a “commemorative certificate” as a souvenir.

b) Become a cooper

  • Your guests will become beer coopers for the moment and be given the task of building a miniature beer barrel in the workshop.
  • Master coopers still produce oak barrels today the same way they used to in the past.
  • Each participant shall receive a “commemorative certificate” as a souvenir.

  • Length: 30 minutes – inclusive in the entire length of the sightseeing tour
  • Maximum number of people: 30Location: historic brewery cellars (A), barrel workshop (B)
  • Both activities can be conceived of as a competition between pairs of guests among themselves.
  •  We will prepare special brewery prizes for the top three pairs in accordance with your wishes and budget
